Twelfth Night
This evening G, M and I went on our annual trip to see the Lord Chamberlain’s Men perform at Holkham Hall. This year the play being performed is Twelfth Night and in my photo you can see Feste, Sir Toby Belch and Sir Andrew Aguecheek. The original Company was formed in 1594 and Shakespeare wrote for The Lord Chamberlain’s Men for most of his career and performed some secondary roles himself. In 2004 a group of travelling players was recreated and permission was given by The Lord Chamberlain to use the original name. ‘The company performs Shakespeare’s classic plays as he first saw them: all male, with Elizabethan costume, music and dance, and in the open air’ (taken from the programme) . I’ve be going to see their annual play for at least 15 of their 21 years and would strongly recommend them. I wish school kids got to see the plays as intended as in reality they are not difficult to follow and the comedies are laugh out loud funny and kids in the audience are entranced. Other than this I drove over to collect my new printer this morning, I’ve some busy days coming up so it won’t be set up soon.
