RIP Uncle Dickie

I have been waiting for today for two weeks. We finally got my mother in to see her family doctor/cardiologist. She had a big bowl of oatmeal with fresh diced bananas and strawberries and a slice of apple Danish for breakfast. Her appointment was coinciding with lunch time. Medicare insurance requires an annual physical and hers was late. My sister and I prepared a list of questions and provided them before the appointment. Her doc really likes Momma and cares generally for her. I found out she was not taking three medications she had been prescribed. We are fixing that immediately. She was prescribed an antibiotic for the pre-cancerous spots she keeps scratching. And we have a new medicine to help with her short term memory loss. Fingers crossed. I took her for lab work next. We’ll get those results in a few days. I put potatoes in the oven before we left. Momma loves baked potatoes so it was her treat after a long, hard day. Hubby went to get her meds and then to change the Damp Rid in our camper. I ironed many pairs of slacks. Dinner is cooked so I am quitting for the day. My sister and BIL represented Momma, hubby and me at our uncle’s funeral. I felt terrible not being able to go but Momma’s appointment had to take precedence. He was a car mechanic and could fix any small engine he was given to repair. He always had a smile on his face and was very soft spoken. I never knew he was that much older than my aunt. She will be lost without him. Can hardly hold my eyes open; it is nap time. Wishing you a restful evening. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit. “UNCLE: Someone who helps, advises, and encourages; great at telling funny family stories.” - good housekeeping. com
