Carol's ramblings

Kensington Palace

Day trip out for me and hubby today.
Having visited Hampton Court at Easter, you can use your ticket towards an annual membership - so I purchased a joint membership, hence the visit today.
Standing outside the Palace, you see greenery and a large lake, you would not believe you are in London.  A statue of Queen Victoria at the front of the property, sculptured by her daughter Louisa, indicates a key resident of the Palace back in history.  Queen Victoria, born in Kensington Palace, spent her childhood there until she became Queen.  Currently two exhibitions in place - Dress Code and Jewellery (gifts given to Queen Victoria by Prince Albert.
A fabulous day - lovely walk from embankment to Waterloo over the Jubilee bridge, stopped to view the sights of London.
