Vignobles Bardet St Emilion

Day 14: We left our lovely Gite and now en route to Caen. We broke our journey to Velluire to visit Vignoble Bardot in St Emilion where we had a  tour of the winery as guest of the daughter of the owner. We learned that they have been making wine since 1704 but have led the way using agroecology methods in St Emilion. We were impressed by the care and passion which they have for making some delicious wines. We tasted some of their wines and needless to say came away with some excellent purchases to enjoy at leisure.
Our Logis Hotel was a real find. It is on the banks of the Vendee (extra) in a small sleepy village. We ate tonight in the hotel restaurant which gave us one of the best meals we have had in France. Delicious.
Tomorrow we have a relatively short and leisurely journey to another Logis  just outside Angers.
