In awe…

Magnificent views today for our walk from Trockener Steg to Schwarz See today - my geologist’s heart is very contented today! As you can see we had splendid weather for most of the walk.
Shocking though to see how far the glaciers have retreated… I fear for the future of these amazing views. We also heard (and saw) a stone avalanche coming down the mountainside of the Matterhorn, thankfully far away - but it makes you think. I found this an interesting read about the impact of climate change on the Alpine region.
