Fire Station Flowers

Today the remnants of Floris still seem to be hanging around, with strong winds (though not compared to yesterday) and a couple of short but torrential downpours.

But in the Memorial Garden outside Lancaster Fire Station- a small but well designed and maintained space with a bench and flowers that change with the seasons)- was well sheltered, and among other delights I found these.
They look like anemones, but I am not familiar with them in this colour with the double petals, so I am prepared to be corrected.
There's also a fantastic rose bush, but none of the photos I took of it do it justice, so I'll just have to try again another day.

It's easy to forget that firefighters put themselves at risk for us, and like all essential services are criminally underfunded. Every time I visit this garden, it reminds me that I should appreciate them for their work and diligence both in preventing and in fighting fires.

I don't have time to visit many journals right now, but I plan to come back in a few hours and go through as many as possible. Can you all stop posting such great shots so it doesn't take up so  much time, please?
(Obviously, I don't mean that; I love browsing Blipfoto and seeing the amount of talented people who do this for the love of it.)
