The ladybird on the door lock

She clings to the aluminium surrounding the lock on our outside door. She’s been there since yesterday’s storm. 
   It’s okay. The storm has passed. Has nobody told you? The world is a safe place for ladybirds again.
   “I like it fine here,” she says.
