Floris
Storm Floris encouraged me to work from home. By lunchtime the rain had passed over and the sun was out, but the wind was picking up significantly.
I had a short walk along the Bank where there was quite a variety of butterflies about, if not in large numbers: Large White, Small White, Speckled Wood, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Wall, Small Heath, Small Copper, Red Admiral and Purple Hairstreak, all of which indicate that butterflies cope quite well with wind, so long as there is good sunshine.
Today’s image is typical for my efforts to photograph Purple Hairstreak, a zoom into the oak canopy high over my head. Always a pleasure to see them though.
