Priest in the family..

Hubby’s nephew was ordained today, a true blessing not only for the family but for a whole community. I’ve never experienced anything like this, the whole town and people from other communities around came together to organize the most wonderful celebration ever! This is the first time ever that someone from their own becomes a priest, there was food and drinks for EVERYONE. They had a tarp (huge one) in the plaza right in front of the church. Inside the church the bishop and at list other 10 priests did the solemn act where signatures and promises were made, followed by the solemn mass that was done outside so all the people could participate.
It was very emotional, especially when they mentioned that the blessings of a priest would be for the whole family as well. Even though I am not immediate family, I feel blessed to be close (by marriage)
Walking behind the band, the niece’s family and the soon-to-be priest all the way to church, seeing all the town following and many others waiting with more music and fireworks. Hubby and I almost tear up (we did)
