Secret superpower in your cat's nose...
This evening I popped into a friend’s house and her cat came rushing towards me.
“He has never done that before,” she said.
Then we realised why. He began pawing the feather in my hand, a small pheasant feather I had picked up on the road.
From across the room he had smelt bird the moment I entered the room.
Maybe we should not have been so surprised. After all a cat’s sense of smell is the primary way he identifies people and objects.
And their sense of smell is 14 times better than humans.
But their eyesight is poor , something I have always suspected with Leo.
