A bit windy!
It's been a busy day but dogs still need to be walked. By the way, Ziggy has learned to spell W A L K. We haven't been saying the full word otherwise he goes mad, jumping and twirling around. Now we notice that when we spell it as soon as the K is uttered he starts kicking off and getting excited! Clever dog.
Anyway, out for a walk at lunchtime, after I attended a Poppy Appeal seminar given by the Gloucestershire Poppy Appeal Manager, and attended by the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal Director no less. I noticed these Poplar trees standing up straight, and then bending with strong gusts of wind. We must have been on the edge of the storm affecting the North of England and Scotland.
The Poppy Appeal Seminar was interesting but I didn't stay for the whole day, I also had a gathering of my Royal British Legion Riders Branch members this evening, well 11 of the registered 80 members! It's pretty much the same around all of the counties, lot of members but the same handful that turn out to attend meetings, commemorations, memorials, veterans funerals, ride-outs etc.
One of my people ('my people' because I am the Gloucestershire County Rep) and the Herefordshire Rep are organising a B2B camping weekend.
It means 'Back To (2) Basics', no fancy frills, just old fashioned camping, sitting around a fire chatting, laughing and maybe a little drinking. Usually involves a countryside walk too. It's going to be fun (12-14 September).
