First Day

Long first day. Got into campus way too early, and have too much downtime in between classes to sit and think about what I did wrong in the first class, and what I'm going to do wrong in the second. I'll get more used to the schedule as I have more work to do; I'm sure I'll appreciate this down time when I have 100 pages of Bakhtin to read every week.

I made the ill-advised decision to wear a sweater vest today. I looked pretty snazzy but by the time I got to my classes I was basically just a big puddle of sweat. I've said it before, but it bears repeating at least one more time: I'm so incredibly over this weather.

This is a super blown-up picture of my favorite purple tie (you can get a better look at it here). I've wanted to do this for a while, actually, as I think this kind of image is pretty cool, but it seems oddly appropriate today given the haze I'm in right now after a long, long day at the office.
