The forecast was very accurate in the timings of rain and wind.
There was a bit of a breeze and steady rain first thing but our plan was to go out for a run about 9.30am when the rain should be easing and the wind not too bad (in fact there was very little for the first half). The rain more or less stopped but there were plenty of puddles but once your feet are wet it doesn't really matter! I did just over 5 miles and met Mr Rat at one point as we crossed paths and we arrived back together. Straight in the shower and before I'd even finish the first strong gust - right on schedule. It's not cold, though.
At the wind increased the sun came out - but we stayed in - and it's still out, though the wind has moderated, as scheduled. It's the first storm since the trees were removed and noticeably quieter without them.
I made myself do a bit of housework and got some of the procrastinated admin done, as well as a few other bits and pieces.
We cancelled the evening run in view of the (accurte) amber wind warning.
