Another Memory from 1990

On this day in 1990 I was staying at The Feather's in Woodstock England and the owner had a ticket to the garden party to celebrate the Queen Mother's 90th birthday and asked if I wanted to go.  Of course I did!  (I checked, 15 pounds in 1990 is $110. today!)  It was lovely. While I was in Woodstock, I visited Blenheim Castle which was stunning.  Winston Churchill was born there because his parents were staying there at the time. (They were related to the duke some way.) During the tour I got separated from the group, dilly dawdling as usual, and bumped into the Duke of Marlborough as I tried to find my way back. Such a handsome young (35 years old) man. He graciously led me back to my group. I didn't know he was the duke, he was so young, wearing jeans and a white shirt, I thought he worked there. The tour leader was a bit surprised and told me after he left who he was. I do meet the most interesting people when I travel!  P.S. My young garden helper yesterday did an amazing job! yesterday ! She'll be back after my guest leaves.
