Petavius

The Moon was so tempting that I stayed up into the early hours of this morning observing and photographing it. This area, in relation to yesterday's blip is below centre to the right (East) of the Moon. The crater with the ridged rim and central mountain is named Petavius, after a 17th century French Jesuit Theologian. It is somewhat more than 100 miles in diameter and has a depth of nearly 2 miles.
