A day in the life

Thistleball

I planted this thistle, a Thistleball, last spring and it didn't do much during year one but with time, water and sun it has now produced a couple of blue balls, which is why I wanted it. For the first time it also produced flowers, which I haven't seen beore. Very beautiful, I hope they multiply for next year, it's so impressive.

I invited my friends for a luxury coffee at my place to celebrate the painting and that the meadow is partly done, also that the wood pile will grow and to celebrate Kents birthday, on the first of August. Coffee, cakes, ice cream and some good things to drink was on the menu and we had a lovely couple of hours. The table was set outdoors but the minute they arrived it started to rain a bit so we had to move indoors. The calendar also said that it's "Meadow day" today, celebrating the diversity of life on a well kept meadow. Still another reason for me to organise a little celebration orgy.
