Lagos

We checked out of our hotel at 11 and wheeled our bags up the road to Eurocar to pick up our hire car. They told us to come back at 12 when the car would be ready. We went for coffee and returned at 12. The car wasn’t ready in fact they didn’t even have the car we’d ordered. They promised us a better car for the same price but somehow the price more than doubled the original price D had paid. We waited another hour. The second car they’d offered wasn’t available so they offered us something else. We eventually hit the road an hour late and ran immediately into a tailback. 3 hours later we arrived in Lagos to meet our host Rafaela who was very nice and showed us round the apartment and gardens.
After a quick change and a pop to the local mini market for water, wine and beer, we wandered into town and found somewhere for dinner. It’s very busy here but there are lots of bars and restaurants to accommodate everyone.
We’re currently sitting in the ‘Sky Bar’ having our favourite cocktail; caipirinha before heading back to the apartment.
