Flowing water

It was not raining when we woke up but it was overcast. I wasn't feeling that great - a bit of a head cold I think, a headache, feeling light headed and a bit nauseous. I decided to skip the morning walk to conserve my energy for a golf game later on, so stayed home and read my book while Gavin went for a walk with Xena. It rained a little throughout the day but not much. This stream is just behind our apartment and it was looking so full due to all the rain.

However when it was time to go play golf - we were playing with another couple from the village - I still did not feel energetic and quite up to it and so decided to miss the golf, which I was upset about as I was looking forward to playing with our friends. I spent the day reading my book - which I finished - and took Xena out for a short walk.

Then at 5pm we went to the final concert in the Klosters Music Festival week. It was superb! I started with a flourish as the award winning Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen orchestra launched into Wagner's overture from the opera The Flying Dutchman, such a dramatic piece of music. This was followed by the Russian pianist Nikolai Lugansky performing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 which is possibly the most popular and famous piano concerto ever written. The pianist was outstanding, it is such a demanding piece of music which he played so well and without any music in front of him at all. The final piece was Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 in E minor, a beautiful piece with which to finish off the concert and the music festival.

I am hoping I feel back to normal tomorrow as the weather looks better and we are planning to do a hike. According to the forecast the weather is improving with sunshine and more like summer temperatures from Tuesday, fingers crossed, as we have friends and Meriel and Luke all arriving on Thursday.
