One Down....

Still more to go, but WOW, the feeling of accomplishment! Finishing an unfinished project? Let the bells ring out; let the banners fly!

The decorative edging on the shawl ended up not being what I had envisioned, but who cares? It will do and it will be just a wee bit different than any shawl that I have ever seen, so I am choosing to look at it as a bold fashion statement...:))

And now? On to another unfinished shawl...knitted in a lace weight yarn. The biggest challenge with it will be not dropping a stitch and having to get it back and recreate the lace pattern. It is knitter's hell when that happens. So today I started by knitting one row and then putting in a new lifeline. I also have a neat gadget that holds the needles when you are not knitting so that no stitches can manage to slip off! So, all precautions taken, tomorrow I will continue the knitting and see how far I get before boredom sets in! I am prone to boredom - that is why I have so many unfinished projects!

Another good weather day except for smoke from wildfires! Yuk.

Shawn was here doing some gardening chores and has come up with more ideas for planting. I am trusting his judgment - I just hope I end up with a garden that I really like and one which will need minimal maintenance. Once we have all the expensive new plantings done this summer, I hope that all that will be required will be regular mowing, weeding and pruning.  I can afford to have Shawn and his crew do that for me if that is all I will need. The garden budget will have limitations imposed on it next year, as I hope to be back in the expensive traveling mode by then!
