Summer sculpture

Ellen has been exploring with her sculpture this summer. In particular, she has been combining metal and clay. She has created work in both so it was time to examine how they might work together. The exploration has also involved different finishes in clay.

The next stage is to take a long hard look at the results. That means placing them in some exposed position so they cannot be ignored and a response is required. We also need to think of them more as outdoor pieces rather than destined for a gallery or interior setting.

I have been exploring with the garden by building a pond. It is a long way from finished but it seemed a good opportunity to combine our explorations.

So now we have questions of whether the pond is worthy of the sculpture or ......
