Eucomis bicolor
Making what must almost be it's annual appearance here! It's very photogenic, flowers for a long time and does it a time of year when there are less 'new' things to show in the garden. Here's one from ten years ago, almost to the day. Twelve years ago. Eight years ago. All very different. It's a South African bulb, a member of Asparagaceae. I raised this one, part of a clump, from home saved seed.
A fairly busy work day at Aber Cafe. Business was nicely spread through the day which helped. Out of the house nine hours, I was happy to sit for a while when I got home but after tea I finished repotting my collection of smaller South African bulbs and then set off to Rhydyronen, walking Meg with John. Back at their caravan, we all sat and chatted over a cuppa until it was dark. On my way home I stopped in at Wharf station where there was a member bar tonight and bumped into two good friends which was nice. A sociable kind of evening.
