My view at 17h:45.
We got the replacement bus service from our local station into Birmingham this morning.
Meeting up with our friends who wanted to treat us to a Cantonese meal in the China quarter.
They brought their little girl (not yet 2 years old) and her granny who is Nepalese and lives in Kathmandu who is currently visiting them.
Eliora’s mum and dad met in Japan but are Chinese, (mum) and Nepalese, (dad). They came to our Birmingham Vineyard Church just over two years ago.
Her mum and dad are working over here. Dad is a doctor doing further training in Cardiology, and mum supervises Chinese students over here who are teaching Mandarin in schools as language Assistants..
Like the French Assistants.
We had a French one at our Grammar School when I was young. All the lads thought she was very dishy!
I just Googled Mandarin Teaching Assistant jobs in the UK and there are lots.
The meal was a virtual banquet!
We’ve come home with a container of some left overs.
The day has turned out to be warm and sunny with a deep blue clear sky. From where I am sitting here in the summerhouse, I can see the hazy half moon hanging in the sky just above the roof line.
Yet the weather forecasters are still predicting this damaging storm Floris to arrive on Monday.
So I’m making the most of the sunshine!
