Surely Not!

Who on earth would think that this hot chocolate with all the trimmings is a healthy option for a drink at 9:30am on a Saturday morning? Surely this is the most  unhealthy drink imaginable and would never ever be put in front  of you at Söderberg or other reputable Cafè. Confession time. I was the person with that hot chocolate thanks to a long overdue free drink on my M&S Sparks card. Well, I can tell you it might be naughty, but it was very nice. I have no regrets…….. maybe just a few.

I was meeting up with daughter#1 in M&S for a catch up since I hadn’t seen her in over 2 months. We both wanted to get our shopping done early in order to escape the crowds. I was home by 11am and with the sun shining and the warmth, I set about pruning the cotoneaster which is threatening to take over the patio. It seems to grow at a great rate and I can hardly keep up with the pruning. The lovely gardeners kindly trimmed my Boston Ivy last week which had crept up to ever higher levels since David cut it back in May. The only patio plant to suffer with the summer heatwaves is the Acer which has shrivelled leaves. It’s always been a tricky customer.

It’s a perfect summer’s day here and also with my Orkney Selkies who are enjoying a sauna day at the slip.
I don’t want to believe that there is a storm arriving on Monday. It would be lovely if daughter Jane had her hard earned week of holiday in Orkney in good weather.
