This is Son Number 2 having a go at being captain on a trip to see the seals today. This is our last day on holiday together - me, my boys, fella and his two boys. Lots of boys and me.
It's the first time in four years of seeing each other that the fella and I have taken all four kids on holiday. And it's been a huge success, which is a real truimph, as like all blended families (especially ones who hardly see each other ) there are many small issues and sadnesses from many different pasts pasts to deal with.
But we've done it. Fella and I make a good team. And I love him very much. He's opened my eyes to so many things and made life infinitely better.
And as he said through happy tears this afternoon "We have lots more good things to look forward to."
