Female Dronefly

That sounds like an oxymoron but droneflies come in both male and female versions like everything else.

This dronefly,  Eristalis tenax, was just sitting on a bramble leaf and let me get my camera up really close.

This is a common hoverfly that resembles/mimics a male bee (a drone).
