Alive and Kicking

We went to see Roger Daltrey at Audley End this evening supported by Cast and Ocean Colour Scene.  It was a great evening with our Friday friends, and luckily the rain held off unlike last time.

At 81 Roger Daltrey still has an incredible voice, and was playing with a band he 'put together' during Covid, including some younger stars including Katie Jacoby on violin and Scott Devours on drums.  We all held our breath as he seemed to almost trip over an undone shoelace 5 minutes after walking on stage.  But it was fine, and he strutted around, whirling his microphone at times and giving a great performance.

We especially enjoyed the old 'Who' stuff including Who who - are you, Substitute, Don't Get Fooled Again,  & The Kids are Alright.  He also covered 'The Boy in the Bubble' by Paul Simon.
