Opening up
Another painfully dull day at work. The light was flat and dull in the morning but it was bright enough during the day. By the time I'd finished and it was time to walk the dog, there was a cool wind and it had gone all overcast and flat again. Mind you the rose at my mother-in-law's came out okay - so that's something.
After getting home and having some dinner it was time to tackle some Mirabelle chutney. I followed Charente's recipe form a few days ago on my blip: More Fruit. Following on from her observation, I was careful with the liquid levels, but it seemed to taste good. It will improve with keeping, so it will be a while before we test it out properly.
I think there is another 2 kg batch of jam to go, and then I'll have finished all the mirabelles for this year. For the next batch of jam I'll use some none Bonne Maman jars, which I'm happy to give away. Someone in the gardening group will probably want them,
