Bilbao

I took the slow route to Bilbao this morning, direct bus to San Sebastián and then the Euskotren to Bilboa which took 2 and a half hours, stopped 37 times and passed through spectacular coastal scenery some of which I recognised from the Camino del Norte in 2024. With its hard seats, no services and, best of all no blinds, it is designed for short hops. I loved it.

Bilbao is one of my favourite places and I’m here for the next four days to explore it properly. This evening I just had time to walk into the old city town to the Ribera Market, eat a few pintxos and get a blip of the Puente de la Ribera.
