A completed mural
I dropped in on Ruth, Josh and the boys soon after breakfast, both to pick up this week's veg order from Josh and to see them all before their planned weekend in London. Eben and Luca were engrossed in a game of Monopoly Junior, which seemed to be going well - not least because Eben was in 'kind big brother' mode and was taking things at Luca's slower pace. This was lovely to see.
Meanwhile, Ruth and I were able to confirm a few plans for the August days when the boys will be with us. R also let me know that my sister-in-law Anne (sister of my first husband) has been diagnosed formally with Alzheimer's. This sad news wasn't unexpected, but is still grim. Fortunately the extended family network is strong and there will be a lot of support for her.
Later I went to photograph the second part of the 'Rivers and Hills' mural that I first blipped on July 22nd. It's an enormous piece of work, and - for me, anyway - the 3D effects work really well. The simple act of walking around, trying out different vantage points, was satisfying: something small and well-defined and feasible to complete :-)
