Two Missing Heads!
I've now got a teenager in the house! It's Ziggy's 13th birthday today.
Dancefit first thing then I came home to change and collect Ziggy and we went to Otterton Mill to celebrate. I had a delicious crab-filled sourdough roll with salad. Ziggy watched.
We then had a lovely walk along the River Otter. There are quite a few beavers there now but we didn't spot any or even any sign. Last time I was there, about 3 years ago, there were several chewed tree stumps resembling sharpened pencils. There's now a lot of vegetation on the river bank alongside the footpath, including Himalayan balsam, so it's difficult to actually see the river except in a few places.
I didn't know that there had been a bad fire at the Mill on 20th June, so there's a temporary café been set up, with its own "field kitchen" and they have made an excellent job of it in a short time. I was on St Martin's at the time of the fire, with no TV or radio so I'd missed the news.
I gave Ziggy his birthday present when we got home (a long thin koala) and he immediately buried it in the garden between the rhubarb and the chard.
I shall continue the celebrations this evening with a birthday drink!!
