Happy birthday

01. August always means celebrating two birthdays.

We did a 3 hour hike all morning and experienced in the first hour greyness, thunders and lightings, torrential rain and a few minutes of hail. Afterwards we enjoyed two hours of full sunshine. So we were dry all again when approaching our starting point. The feeling afterwards is great having beaten the elements. However Kara experienced hail for the first time and just stood still with us under a tree until it was over.

The blip shows Kara when a jogger came in full speed towards us on a single trail. Kara observes carefully but remains calm (unless people do something unexpected or come too close to us).

Lazy afternoon preparing my own unhealthy but delicious birthday dish served with a Brunello from 2009. Napping afterwards. We hope the rain comes back in the evening so that the very few people who still start fireworks will get discouraged.
