A Day Out

Little Man and I went out today, to Amsterdam. I was getting a bit bored and restless being stuck at home. I did put a nappy on Little Man as I didn't fancy any puddles while we were out.

We got the bus to Bodegraven and then caught the train to Amsterdam, via Woerden. The lifts at Woerden are under repare so we can't access the platforms that service the trains going towards the Dutch capital. Thankfully, they haven't been repairing all the lifts at once. They started the lifts in the main hall and for platforms 5 and 6 back in April and finished them while we were away. Now they've moved to repairing the other two lifts (at the back station entrance and to platforms 1 and 2). So this means that travelling by train to Amsterdam and Utrecht needs some more forethought than normal.

We had a lovely time together. When we got to Amsterdam, we took a tram to Dam Square. I wanted to pop into the Waterdrop shop (the only one in the country now) to drop off the empty caps. This means that I'll get points for it. We also popped into the Lego shop so that Little Man could go into the windmill they have there (click here to see the last time we visited). We also got a few things in preparation for my parents, Little Man's grandparents, arrival next week.

I purposefully caught an earlier train to Woerden, so that Little Man could stretch his legs. We had a lovely time exploring the area around the station before we caught the bus home. We're having quiche for dinner and will need to take that out the oven once I've posted this.
