Tattoo

Another recovery day.  WH was working and #1 son was trying to work out if he'd run or swim, eventually he did neither.  I did confirm the weekend plans (hectic) and what is happening on Monday when #1 son heads off to the WHW again. After emptying the car of golf clubs I took the girls to the pool.  A free session! #2 son and S came through in time for lunch and there was some sorting out of warm clothes for later.

After lunch they had a rest and not much else happened though #1 son did go for that run, up and down the street.  It threatened to rain so there was much scanning of weather apps for tonight's forecast.  Plus more sorting of warm coverings for later, hats, scarves, blankets and also plastic ponchos!  My bag was stuffed.

#1 son and I went to Cameron Toll and WH made dinner.  We ate in two shifts and the #2 son party had been on the Pickerings gin tour.  But the cats got fed and somehow everyone did get kitted up and on the bus before 8 ready to meet #3 son and H at George IV Bridge.

Of course the aim was to get to the Tattoo in time to settle down before the show.  I was a bit worried about our seats, quite low down near the exit but they were actually rally good as the girls got a close up view of a lot of the action.  I thought it was a better show than last year - more bands and military displays and less daft dancers and odd acts.  And the drones at the end were spectacular, definitely a good innovation.  Although the wind got up a bit it wasn't that cold (I never did my jacket up) and it didn't rain.

Said goodbye to #3 son and H at the meeting point and then the Usual scrum for the bus at S Bridge compounded by the fact that the Hibs game had gone to extra time (they lost).  We were home before midnight and #2 son and S went to their temp home.

It was a good night and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
