The top of Y Graig
THURSDAY
After the Ocado delivery arrived, I spent an hour in the garden doing some dead-heading and general tidying.
Early afternoon, the St Kentigern Hospice van came by to collect some surplus furniture.
Afterwards, I went for a short 4 km walk up to the top of Y Graig Nature Reserve, which sits just on the outskirts of the village. I spotted dozens of butterflies—mostly whites, meadow browns, and gatekeepers. I had hoped to catch sight of the elusive purple hairstreak, which has been reported there recently, but it remained elusive.
Overhead, the sound of circling buzzards was a dominant presence, over the incessant chattering of the chiffchaffs.
