Looks like August
(Checks calendar...) It IS! The very first day which means, by the Celtic calendar, it is the first day of Autumn and Lammas, also known as Lughnasadh. It is a Celtic festival celebrated on August 1st, marking the beginning of the harvest season. Lughnasadh means "first fruits" which is what the Amish Farmstand near me is called. It always marked the beginning of the canning season in my home growing up or as it is also called, "putting food by". For me, before I retired from teaching, it was a sign that the opening of school was not far away. Now, I just enjoy the Goldenrod, often confused with their allergy causing cousin, Ragweed. No sneezes here and another coolish day.
