Blå Jungfrun
We continue our exploration of Sweden's national parks. We have now visited 11 of 31 so there is still plenty left to explore.
The Blå Jungfrun (Blue Virgin) was showing off its very best side. Brilliant sunshine and nice hiking. The landscape is both exciting and beautiful with red cliffs and lusch, jungle-like deciduous forest. We also explored the labyrinth. "Trojeborg" is one of the largest and most impressive stone labyrinths in Scandinavia. The origin of the "Troja" labyrinth is unknown, but it was already here in Linnaeus' time.
As early as the 15th century, the island was permeated with magical beliefs about witches and sorcery. We saw neither witches nor trolls. Maybe we will have to come back on Maundy Thursday for that.
