our guava tree!
We made it home, safe and sound. The plane left early when everyone had boarded and it landed early! We did have to wait over 1/2 hour for our bags, but that was the only flaw.
An Uber was reserved and the young man waited patiently for us while we collected our bags. When we got in the car he told us it was a self-driving car! He put in our address and away it went. The car drove past our house, then turned around and dropped us at home around 9 pm. The young man was very personable and told us all about the car. I would not get one myself, but it was an interesting experience.
We went shopping for groceries this morning as we had no fresh food or milk after being away for a few weeks. Then we went and retrieved Beda & the cats from the "Pet Resort" where they received extra attention and larger then usual quarters. Beda had a nature walk outside every day and tuck in service with cuddles at night. The cats had a kitty room they could wander about in. Extravagant, but this was the only way we would leave them for that long. One of the caretakers told us how sweet the cats were and that he held them in his arms and talked to them... how wonderful, I was very happy to hear that. It seems a very caring place.
We chilled out at home with them after that. I took a walk around our yard to see how the plants were and all was well because it had rained. Then I spotted the guava tree full of fruit! They need to ripen and then I may ask Steve for the guava jelly recipe... he made some a few years ago and it was very good.
Nice to be home in familiar surroundings and reunited with our pets. Thanks for following our journey to Wolf Island and for your lovely comments, stars & hearts.
