At Last

After much anticipation, we have finally had some descent rain. A storm rolled in early this afternoon and along with it three centimetres of rain, so enough to penetrate the ground. What a relief for the plants and us all.

Meanwhile Andy was up in Liss fixing a fence. Thankfully he managed to complete the task before the storm arrived.

I gave Merlin a long walk this morning in anticipation of the rain later, then made a minestrone soup and started a new batch of blackcurrant cordial. To be honest I did also spend quite some time just sitting marvelling at the heavy rain pouring down and imagining the relief it must be to dry earth and vegetation.
