Stuff and Nonsense

Green Sandpiper #58

We headed over to WWT Martin Mere today for some much needed nature therapy. It was very quiet on the bird front, which would normally see us visiting the ornamentals section, but looking at the number of cars in the car park, we decided against it and popped in to RSPB Marshside on the way home. We saw a single Green sandpiper at the Gordon Taylor hide but there was a distinct lack of waders again at MM.
At Marshside, there were at least three Common sandpipers, a few Ruff and a load of Black Tailed Godwits which was great to see.
Also at Marshside there were a handful of Red Admirals feeding on the ragwort (extra).
