Forest Bridge

At five o'clock this morning I woke to the sound of torrential rain and on getting out of bed to shut the sliding door before we drowned I saw a huge banner out on the lawn with Happy Birthday emblazoned across it. Thankfully there were no numbers on it!! The balloons were attached later after everyone had woken up and the rain had stopped. It did make me smile  which was as well as the bedroom roof was leaking again.

We went for a ramble down in the Forest of Dean after hitting the Wye Smokery to buy some crabs and prawns for tonights supper. Our little grandson  was fascinated by the fish counter there - it is rather magnificent especially going eye to eye with a lobster or halibut whilst the monkfish are always predictably scary with their huge vice-like jaws. I think it gave T-rex a run for his money on that front.
