Helios.

StevenG had the brilliant idea of going to the Coventry Charterhouse today.
Here’s some info about it

“ A medieval monastic house surrounded by acres of tranquil green space, home to some of the finest examples of medieval and renaissance art in England, this Grade I listed, 14th century building has quite the story to share.  Founded in 1381, Coventry Charterhouse has served many different purposes. From a 14th century monastery to a family home and a garden that produced exotic fruit for wealthy locals.  In more recent years, the house has served as a youth hostel, old men’s home and training venue before being saved for the people of Coventry by local residents.”

At the moment it is hosting one of Luke Jerram’s  masterpieces,  a great big sun!

I  found it a little underwhelming compared with his Moon and Earth which were displayed in large cathedrals, but anyway it was good to see it.
The actual historic building is interesting, and has some wonderful Tudor era wall paintings. The grounds and cafe were good too on this lovely sunny day.
Extra, a detail of one of the paintings

Thanks Steve for suggesting this
