Instagram Vs reality

We decided to go to Dovedale stepping stones, which we had fond memories of since we were children. We expected busy but it was insane!
We had chosen to take a quieter route, which involved more rugged paths and uphill/downhill. However, as we came down into the valley we discovered that the rest of the world had taken the easy and flat path, along with pushchairs, beach trolleys and full on three course meals!
There were queues from both sides of the stepping stones and not a patch of grass for us to sit on to eat our picnic! My parents would be horrified! Music booming, football games and kids screaming in all directions. We stayed to let the kids paddle for a while & quickly ate a sandwich before escaping back up the way we came.
Anya & Max were keen to go up Thorpe cloud, which was also busy but much more bearable and we did get fantastic views from the top. (Extras)
