An anhinga follow-up.
You may remember here, a couple of weeks back, I blipped an anhinga with twine wrapped around his beak. I went back to the park today to see if I could find out anything and as soon as I got off my motorcycle I had my answer. He was sitting there, but still had the string on his beak. I was so saddened to see this.
As I moved in to get a closer look he squawked, with mouth wide open!!! I noticed the string has worn through and is barely on the bottom now, with none on the top.
Apparently the park people were unable to catch him, but he was able to get free on his own. I am sure it will all be gone when I go back in a day or two!
