The cake

MrM's friend, Mac, had his birthday 'do' today in Marsden and invited us both along. MrM went along early afternoon, on one of the very few direct local buses, to the pre-party Irish music session, while I followed later in the afternoon on the bus to Huddersfield and then on to Marsden. Took ages, including a lengthy wait in Huddersfield.

Mac is an 80-year-old with stamina, who loves music and, apparently, swimming. After the Irish music session came an open mic, a break for food, and then a Ska Band (excellent). There were mountains of yummy food - this is the main birthday cake, and one of several - but the bar ran out of beer and had to send out for more! A proper good do, as they say in these parts!

MrM and I left before the end as we were offered a lift home for which we very very grateful, much easier than negotiating the public transport system!
