Babaganoush

It was only a matter of time before this sweet lady-dog made an appearance... Baba Yaga, also known as Babaganoush, Babaloon, Chops, Sausage, Barbara Streishound and Sugartits. 

This Bosnian street-dog is the heart of me, or at least, she's made my heart bigger. Along with her sister, Mouse, she arrived in June 2017, skinny and haunted-looking, reeking and skittish. 

The two of them were so bonded, they slept in a heap, played bitey-face (indoors) and kill-chase (an outdoor version of the same game where the rough play they delighted in got me instructed by many other dog owners that I should intervene, even though they were fine).

Mouse died two years later - of cancer, not kill-chase - and Baba, although confused and a bit sad for a while, has become an even more confident, howly, happy girl who gives me great joy.
