The approaching storm
The boys wanted to go downhill biking today, so we rented the required bikes for the day. It is a growing sport in the Alps, and all over the world, but I am still not comfortable with the boys doing it as when you crash you really crash. As a summer sport it is crazy as you have to wear so much protective gear, padding and full face helmets that on a hot day you end up sweating buckets.
Murdoch and I went off for a lovely walk - it was quite humid and I could hear thunder rumbling in the distance. I took this photo as the clouds started closing in over the distant mountains, and thankfully it did not rain on us.
Now I am starting to pack things up for our return journey home on Monday. I was hoping to go back on Sunday but Gavin will be too tired and jet lagged to drive back on Sunday after arriving back from Australia the day before.
I have just taken Murdoch to the vet for his 'passport check'. Pets re-entering the UK need to comply with certain rules, which include getting a local vet to administer flea and worm treatment before you cross over to the UK, and certifying that they have done so with the date and time. It has to be strictly within 1-5 days of your entry to the UK.
