Ahead by a nose .....

Have you ever noticed how often people resemble their pets? Can you see a resemblance here between the keeper and the Golden Eagle?

It was a glorious day for the Oban Highland Games, very hot, and cheerful crowds were watching the events. I have to say Oban is not one of my favourite games, the events always seem distant as the public is not allowed on the field. Impossible to photograph the dancing, for instance, without a super duper camera. But this guy was in a quiet corner at the back of the field, attracting much interest. The eagle is 5 years old and can live to 50 years. They are from the Loch Lomond Bird of Prey Centre at Balloch, shortly to moving to Loch Lomond Shores.
