something positive
today I worked with both the physical therapist and the occupational therapist. and Doug drove the car over so we could practice my getting in and out. it was easy! and the therapist had an interesting tool that inserts into the door lock so it can be used as a handle to hold on to as one sits down. I'm going to get one of those!
tomorrow I'll be going to dialysis via the Hyde shuttle, a free service that takes people to medical appointments. it will be my first time doing this and I'm hoping it will turn out a pleasant experience that I might want to repeat.
I'm feeling really stir crazy here and I had to get out of my room, but I'm not allowed to walk further than the door to the hall. so I decided I would use the wheelchair and wheel myself somewhere else. I started up the hall hoping I would find someplace pleasant and roomy to sit and read. One of the staff saw me and I told him what I was looking for and he wheeled me all the way to this very large room with doors to the outside and no one inside. this is what I saw looking through those doors. it was lovely just to sit there in the quiet and feel the breeze from outside. when I started back to my room, the same staff person caught up with me and push the wheelchair all the way back.
