Bass Rock from North Berwick Law

A just lovely day out in North Berwick in glorious sunshine and a gentle breeze.

Lunch was an excellent salad and cheese scone at St Columba’s Hospice cafe and bookshop before tackling North Berwick Law, the remnants of an ancient volcanic plug which dominates the skyline and the town at its feet.

We’ve seen the Law many times. This was its day. There were spectacular 360deg views from the summit of the Forth, Fife, North Berwick, Isle of May , the Pentlands and Arthur’s Seat. This evening the summit was hosting the annual Law Race. Unfortunately, we were not there to see. There were good views of Bass Rock from the Sea Bird centre too. (Extra)

We will be back on Sunday to see Eddi Reader in the Fringe by the Sea Festival being held in the town from 1-10th August.
