Packing up
It was a brilliant final morning. We had got a lot of packing done before the sessions, which was piled in a last remaining tent.
When I was in the big top, i saw G. Katie still hadn't seen her. I messaged her to say I'd seen her. She ran from youth to get me to show her and to give her a treat she'd brought for her! They were both delighted for a hug.
She went back off to her final session but all the youth and children came into the end of the final meeting and the party was huge. I got to see the girls coming in beaming before going back to my team.
After the session, Katie decided she was taking herself to say goodbye to C & G. The girls sorted lunch and I came back after our team goodbyes to things moving fairly well.
There had been some car irritations over the last 24 hours but I was able to gain access early afternoon- I'd had to crawl through the car into the boot release. They all found this hilarious and joined me in the boot!
The journey home was a slightly painful 9 hour marathon, including nearly an hour just getting off site. But we stopped quite early for ice creams and fuel. Tea break was a rather longer than hoped affair for various reasons but after tea I put on a road trip type playlist and we belted out some bangers to cheer things along. As we approached 11pm, I was flagging so told the kids they had to entertain me. They did full volume Disney car-aoke for me. It was certainly effective at keeping me awake...! We arrived home shortly before midnight after delivering everyone. We both collapsed into our rooms straight away.
What a trip!
